The country’s horticultural exports recorded significant growth in 2018 after more than $112 million worth of produce was exported, up from $50,9 million exported in 2017.

Govt to revive horticulture sector June 16, 2018

Government has embarked on a programme to resuscitate horticulture export markets as the international markets continue to show interest to resume trade with Zimbabwe, starting in the 2018-19 season. Major horticulture products of interest to the international markets are mange tout, sugar snaps, peas, chillies, fine beans, parsnips, baby marrows, sweet potatoes, fruits such as bananas, avocado pears, papaya, oranges and lemons and flowers.

Tobacco added to Zimbabwe’s Command Agriculture March 21, 2018

Government has announced that it’s adding Tobacco to its programme of Command Agriculture through which the capacity of local producers is enhanced. Tobacco earns a third of Zimbabwe’s Gross Domestic Product with most exports going to China, Belgium and South Africa.
