Steelmaker pours in $5bn

GOVERNMENT yesterday signed an investment deal worth over $5 billion with Chinese steel giant, Tsingshan, for the setting up of a steel plant in Mvuma and to bankroll a number of mining activities. The deal is expected to create at least 30 000 jobs.

Government yesterday approved a $350 million investment deal in which ZimCoke (Pvt) Ltd will revitalise the coke plant within Ziscosteel, creating more than 800 jobs for a company that is to employ 5 000 people at its peak.
