Matsikidze elected new NBSZ chairman

The Mirror board chairman who is also a prominent Harare-based labour lawyer, Rodgers Matsikidze has been elected National Blood Services Zimbabwe (NBSZ) board chairman replacing Retired Justice Goerge Leslie Smith who has been at the helm of the organization for the past 41 years. Matsikidze was elected on Friday in Harare during the NBSZ's annual general meeting held at NBSZ where the entire board was replaced by new blood.

The National Blood Services Zimbabwe (NBSZ) is set to get a new board of directors following the successful holding of the branch annual general meetings. The meetings were held across the company’s five branches in recent weeks. Harare branch has a new committee, resulting in replacement of retired Justice Leslie Smith.

The Ministry through its representatives in the NBSZ Board are guiding the reconfiguration of the board. This is a short term measure as the Ministry has no total control hence the plan to enact a Bill for the institution.
