POTRAZ has identified places for installation of 350 more telecommunication base stations as it moves to address perennial network challenges and to enhance digital connectivity across the nation. The nation has a total of 6 863 base stations that allow digital access.

ED lays US$23,6m internet backbone March 14, 2019

President Mnangagwa yesterday commissioned the US$23,6 million National Backbone Fibre Link in Beitbridge set to boost the country’ Information Communication Technology capacity and status as a regional communications hub. The link connects Beitbridge with Bulawayo, Harare, Masvingo and the rest of the country using underground cables.

Zimbabwe's US$107-million ICT plan for 2019 December 04, 2018

Zimbabwe's Finance Ministry has released details of its 2019 infrastructure investment allocations, which includes US$107.6-million set aside for ICT infrastructure projects. In addition to US$12-million to develop the infrastructure required to roll out VoIP, the country also requires US$100-million to complete its digitalisation migration project and unlock additional spectrum opportunities.
