ZIMRA has defended its engagement of the military to help ease congestion at the country’s border and maintain order and discipline. “Touts, vendors and beggars were interfering with the smooth operations and collection of revenue at the ports of entry/exit. The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority recommended that the operation be extended to cover all major border posts, and airports,” Happias Kuzvinzwa, the acting ZIMRA Commissioner General said in a December 19, 2017 letter addressed to a colonel Moyo.
